Corra the Zora by Khaarma Corra the Zora by Khaarma
~Jastoz hosted a little Legend of Zelda based fan rp for me, and I made a Zora as my character! Cuz they rock. I know alot less about LoZ than Jastoz does so in order to avoid any issues I pulled the amnesia loop hole which was kinda lame, but I also made up deep sea Zora so my character wouldn't be recognized on sight when brought to the Zora's domain.

Deep Sea Zora are tougher than normal ocean Zora. Their arm fins are sharp and ridged and they're darker in color. The idea was that she's kind of a mix of an ocean and a river zora.

Thanks, this one took an exceptionally long time because blending the blues wasn't working very well.

aha thank you! She actually plays a bone Shamisen so it's similar. After all, what is Zelda without a musical instrument?

Thanks, I've always loved Zoras so I felt the need to make an aggressive looking species of them.

Ah yes. it just seemed unique somehow. less blending and smudging and more pixels. it looks better that way

Well I don't find smudging or blending on pixel art as true pixel art. All of mine is done pixel by pixel. Any blending I do it totally manual. It takes forever but hey, if I wasn't doing it by pixel it'd be another painting, not pixel art.

I remember when you had just started posting pixel art on here and it was smaller creations and now here you are putting your own flair on a fantastical well-made creature. I was an avid LoZ follower (and still listen to lots of the music).

You've already accomplished so much with this Zora, I can't wait to see the finished product if you upload it! I simply love the pose. The sharp spikes you put on her really go flow and help along the idea of a Zora slashing through water at a blistering speed and I bet yours can definitely do so while withstanding unbelieve deep sea ocean pressure. Impressive job here.

This is really amazing. :D I love how it's authentic to the species, but has your own flair to it. The spikes are shaded beautifully, and I love the angle you've chosen, it really showcases the best parts of him.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. Corra's actually a female character, heh. I didn't make the bust too pronounced because I feel that creatures that have no practical use for breasts only need enough to create curve for the body, since that's the most common way of recognition haha :D

XD Grah! I'm sorry!

I see what you mean now, though, I can see some little skeeter bites now. Haha.

Good point with the -need- for them too, I guess there really isn't much, only to be able to tell male from female!
